Rewa is a village in Gmina Kosakowo on the Polish Baltic coast, set on the shoal it is named after in the Bay of Puck, an inlet of the Baltic Sea. A sandy spit, the Cypel Rewski, runs out into the bay, and the area is a centre for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The schools line Rybacka and Sztormowa streets by the spit.
The windiest run in the record is October to February, when roughly six days in ten clear 12 knots for three daylight hours or more, and January is the pick at 71 per cent. The mean over those rideable hours is 16 to 18 knots, and on a winter day the wind holds from morning to evening. The rest of the year is far from empty: even August, the quietest month, has close to four days in ten. Kitesurf The World gives the season as March to October and says it can be windy all year. On a proper January day it is hooning.
In a strip two cables wide from the shore, craft may not plane and must keep to minimum steerage speed; for craft without an engine this applies within one cable, 185.2 metres, of the shore.
66% of days clear 12 kt for three daylight hours or more.
In October the wind most often sits at 8 to 11 kt (27% of daylight hours) and is over 12 kt from 10am to 5pm on at least half the days. See both charts in the full report
