Jericoacoara
35% of March days clear 12 kt for three daylight hours or more.
March sits outside the best months here. This report carries the record for March as it is, and no direction or session norm, because there is none to quote. Section 02 shows the year-by-year spread; section 06 shows which months to come instead.
Hour-by-hour & month-by-month wind
Rideable-day share by month, all three sports
Share of days with three or more daylight hours over each sport's threshold, counted from the record at 12 kt, Windsurf 13 kt and Wing 12 kt.
Blue fill scales with the share. Selected month outlined. Threshold per row: Kite 12 kt · Windsurf 13 kt · Wing 12 kt.
Where the wind sits, March
Share of daylight hours in each speed band, blue above the threshold.
Not drawn: 5% of daylight hours under 4 kt.
When in the day, March
Share of days over 12 kt at each daylight hour.
Rideable hours, not all hours. Every wind figure in this report is the mean over hours above the threshold.
March's own records
The month's own figures from ten Marches in the record, 2017 to 2026. Not the year's average.
What the percentage hides. A month at 80% can be twenty-four steady days or three windy weeks broken by a dead front.

Per-launch tide windows
The guide notes wide flats at low tide. Which state suits which level is unknown until tide data arrives.
The guide notes low-tide sandbars and rocks in front of ClubVentos. Hours per state unknown until tide data arrives.
Tide data not yet available for this spot. The record holds wind, air and waves, not tide. Until a tide source is connected, the tables above stay empty rather than estimated. What the guide says about tide is on the next page, in words.
Low-tide rock detail & channels
Every hazard on the spot page, repeated here in full. Read this before you get wet.
Conditions change. Check local rules and conditions before you ride.
Sharp rocks show at low tide on the sand in front of ClubVentos, on the village side. Sand bottom elsewhere. Walk your launch line at low water once before you ride it.
The river mouths at Guriú and Tatajuba shift their channels between seasons and the sandbars off the village beach move with them. Ask a local before you ride a new tide.
Getting there, packing & best months
March has no session mean to size from, so no sizes are given.

Hand-drawn maps · overview
Illustrative, not surveyedReading the map
West is left, the trades come from the right. Kites launch west of the village towards the big dune; windsurfers and wingers launch from the village beach. The park keeps kites out of marked zones on both sides, drawn here only roughly, so follow the beach markers. The downwinder runs west with the wind, from the village to Guriú.

Google or Apple Maps from each launch on the spot page. Every line on this sheet is drawn by eye from the coast, not traced from a survey: shapes, distances and the rock marks are approximate by construction.
Hand-drawn maps · per launch
Illustrative, not surveyedKite launch west of the village, towards the Duna do Pôr do Sol. The park plan keeps kites out of a marked zone off the beach north-west of the dune, so launch where the markers and the schools say. NE to E trades, strongest August to January. Two local sources describe the wind here as side-offshore and recommend it for experienced kiters only. Wide sandy flats at low tide.
Windsurf and wing launch in front of the village. The park plan keeps kites out of a marked zone off Praia da Malhada and Ponta das Pedras, and all wind sports out of a 50 m strip at Praia da Malhada. Choppy NE to E trades, low-tide sandbars, crowded December to January.
Sources, and their limits
Where each section of this report comes from. Record is measured. Modelled is computed by a formula because no measurement exists yet; it looks like data and is not. Written is WindChaser's editorial copy, compiled from the sources below.
The record
Hourly wind, 2017 to 2026, from ECMWF IFS HRES via Open-Meteo: a 9 km grid, read at the cell 3.9 km from the spot. It knows the wind over the cell, not the gust on the sand in front of you, and it knows the bearing, not the coastline: "side-onshore" is a rider's reading of the bearing. Each month is counted over nine to ten years.
What we could not source for Jericoacoara
Tide tables. Windsurf and wing thresholds run through the hourly record. Operator contacts and brands stocked. Coordinates for the launches. Where any of these is missing above, the section says so rather than filling itself.
