El Gouna is a resort town on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, 30 to 40 minutes by road from Hurghada airport, and it has two kite beaches on shallow lagoons. Mangroovy and Buzzha beach, on Kite Center Road, hold KBC El Gouna and the Duotone Pro Center at Casa Cook. North Beach, about 3 km to the north-west, holds Kitepower, Makani Beach Club and Riah.
The town’s tourism site lists seven kite centres in all.
Kitepower, at the north end of El Gouna, teaches on a private, gated lagoon where the first 800 metres or so are knee-to-waist deep over a sandy bottom.
