Cabarete

What it's actually like

Cabarete is a town in Puerto Plata province, about 30 minutes from Puerto Plata airport, with its riding on two beaches. Kite Beach, north of the village, has stronger wind and choppier water. Bozo Beach, in the heart of Cabarete, is more accessible, and ION Club calls it ideal for those new to kitesurfing, but warns of the shore break often present there in winter.

The trade wind blows from the north-east, side-onshore.

Cabarete Kite Point gives its peak season as June to September, with side-onshore wind from 12pm to 6pm.
